The Monsters one-shot from One Piece creator Eiichirou Oda is getting adapted into a TV episode-length anime, it has been announced.
E&H production is producing the adaptation with its founder and president Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1) as director.
Monsters is set in the same world as One Piece and focuses on the samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma. It was originally published in the 1994 Autumn Special of Weekly Shonen Jump Soukan (One Piece began serialization in 1997) and is compiled in the 1998 Wanted! anthology.
One Piece is currently celebrating the second and last day of the One Piece Day ’23 event. In addition to various announcements, a lengthy three-minute trailer for Netflix’s live-action adaptation and a preview of the TV anime series’ upcoming 1071th episode “Luffy’s Peak – Attained! Gear Fifth” were released.
